I was raised in Ashland, VA and learned hard work in my family’s construction business. I’ve been on a tractor and using a shovel since the age of seven. I graduated from high school in Hanover County, VA, and went on to get my Business Administration degree from VCU. I have been in the residential mortgage business for 27 years and have continued ranked consistently in the top 1% of mortgage originators nationwide. As a results oriented professional, I find real joy in helping others and seeing people grow and develop. My wife and I have been married for over 20 years, we have two sons, and make our home in Loudoun County, Virginia.

The Scott Shelton Story

Creating SAGA has been a lifelong dream since the age of seven. I imagined my
life would be full of stories. I had no clue how many phases of my life would occur producing both pleasant and unpleasant stories. We are not to shame ourselves for the stories that make up our DNA. Fear, shame and outward perceptions place limiting beliefs on our intrinsic value system. Experiencing those imperfect gifts creates a trap. A trap where one may feel robbed of time, looking for ways to please others instead of seeing the true value of who we are. I am firm we must not allow those imperfect gifts to define our outward strength and capability.
SAGA is important to me. Until each of us stops breathing, there is tremendous value in communicating who we are in this world. The good, the bad, and the ugly–there is no end of the story.
In telling our story and sharing who we are, I want to point you to the final answer to every value and meaning of life. That answer is in the person of Jesus Christ, His life, His death and most important, His resurrection. He is our hope and our favorable expectation. SAGA Companies abiding principal is, Matthew 16:24-26.
“Jesus “…said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will man give in exchange for his soul?” Everything we do here on earth, although temporary, is important and has a purpose. Because we are living for much more than this we must live full lives in the here and now.

So, no matter what your role in life, each involves people, and people have stories. While no two stories are the same, each has meaning and value. I invite you to explore all that we can offer, remembering that: Everyone Has a Story, “What is Yours?”
